Makala hii inalenga kuhakiki mandhari katika riwaya ya John Habwe; Maisha Kitendawili (2000). Lengo la makala ni kuchunguza na kubainisha jinsi ambavyo mwandishi John Habwe alivyotumia mandhari kuwasilisha ujumbe wake kwa jamii. Pia wahakiki wanamadhumuni ya kubainisha jinsi mandhari mbalimbali yanavyomwezesha mwandishi kufikia lengo lake. Makala hii inaongozwa na nadharia ya uhalisia ambayo husisitiza kuwa kazi ya fasihi itumie mandhari halisi ambayo si mageni kwa mwandishi na msomaji ili kuwasilisha ukweli wa maisha halisi.
